- Community Vision Statement
Welcome to the home of the Daytona Beach Vision Plan!
The Daytona Beach Visioning was a process that began in 2006 as an initiative by the Daytona Beach City Commission. It was conceived as a community-driven plan to take a critical look at the city to discuss the needs, wants and dreams of our entire community as we look towards the future.
Daytonans from all walks of life were invited to participate in large group meetings and in smaller "action teams" to share their input and help map-out the desired path of the city for the next 20 years. The Vision Plan, in its final form, was submitted to the City Commission on March 19, 2008. The Commission voted to accept the plan to use as a resource as they plan for the City's future. At this meeting, the Commission also approved a proposal by the original Steering Committee to continue their work by forming a standing committee to oversee the implementation of ideas presented in the Vision Plan.
The terms of the Vision Implementation Committee (as it is now called) expired in 2009. Several members agreed to continue to serve on the committee. New Members were appointed by City Commissioners and by the original Steering Committee. The Vision Implementation Committee views the Vision as a "living document" and will continue to maintain and update the Vision into the future.
